B & J Carryout, often described as Accokeek's front porch, has a cheerful 1950s high school hangout look because we've been here that long on our busy corner of Indian Head Highway.
Delicious homemade American food cooked to order and served with down home hospitality. We offer an extensive menu of sandwiches and carryout food to eat at our outdoor tables or take with you. We've been serving great food to lots of people on the go in Southern Maryland for over 60 years.
We believe in real food so we cook it from scratch. Turkey is roasted fresh; onion rings are made fresh every day from jumbo Spanish onions; oysters and crab come from the Chesapeake Bay right to our kitchen; and rib eye steaks are selected for us and sliced by our local butcher just to make those great steak & cheese subs everybody loves.
Big breakfast for those with a little more time: eggs, pancakes, omelets, fresh potatoes, french toast, sausage gravy, bacon, sauage, ham, bologna, scrapple--you name it! If we have it, we'll make it to order for you.
Young and old-- in the spring everyone looks forward the opening of our walk up window where you can get premium soft serve ice cream in cones, shakes, old fashioned malts, sundaes, banana splits, and some creative combinations dreamed up by customers and staff! Open for the season

In the fall and winter, we start the day by roasting bones, hocks, and veggies to make hearty stocks that are the basis of our delicious and nutritious soups: white bean & smoked ham, tomato/vegetable beef, and turkey with barley and veggies (this one cures a cold!). Check out our chili too!
About Us
